South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Special Meeting - January 8, 1999 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />j. Commission approval requested for <br />proposal from Lawson - Fisher <br />Associates for professional services in <br />the South Bend Central Development <br />Area. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that as work on the <br />Morris Performing Arts Center and the <br />Palais Royale began, the architects noticed <br />that the structural support for the sidewalk <br />east of the Palais Royale building and the <br />vault below the sidewalk have some <br />concrete deterioration. In addition, some <br />of the structural framing has severe <br />concrete deterioration and the reinforcing <br />steel has rusted extensively. It was <br />recommended that repairs be made to <br />correct these problems. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that a proposal was <br />received from Lawson - Fisher Associates <br />in the amount of $2,500 (lump sum) to <br />analyze the sidewalk condition and the <br />structural support for the sidewalk and to <br />make recommendations for corrections <br />based on their analysis of the situation. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Blake, seconded by <br />Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission accepted the proposal from <br />Lawson - Fisher Associates in the amount <br />of $2,500 (lump sum) for professional <br />services in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. <br />HAWPDATATOMMSM0I0899.MIN -16- <br />COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM <br />LAWSON- FISHER ASSOCIATES IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$2,500 (LUMP SUM) FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br />IN THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT <br />AREA <br />
