Annual Organizational Meeting - January 8, 1999 <br />6. 1998 ACCOMPLISHMENTS (CONT.) <br />proposal was accepted from Quizno's to lease <br />retail space at the corner of Jefferson & <br />Michigan Streets. The Plaza is to be <br />completed by August 1, 1999. <br />The Grid Iron Row building containing the <br />Chocolate Cafe, The Vine and offices of <br />Korbuly Graf Architects has been completed. <br />Construction has begun on the Morris <br />Performing Arts Center project. The work is <br />scheduled for completion in the Fall of 1999. <br />The renovation of the State Theater Facade <br />has been completed. The contract for the <br />renovation of the State Theater Marquee was <br />awarded. The work is to be completed by <br />April 1, 1999. <br />A portion of the former Dreisbach property <br />was sold to SSP Properties for construction of <br />a new Social Security building. The building <br />is to be completed in early 1999. <br />The City entered into a contract with Business <br />Districts Inc. to work with Vision 2020 and <br />Center City Associates in developing a <br />comprehensive strategy and action plan for the <br />downtown. The Plan is to be completed in <br />early 1999. <br />The light bulbs in the Wayne Street garage <br />have been replaced in order to upgrade <br />lighting, and the brick on the front of the <br />garage has been repaired. <br />In 1998, the overall area had 155,380 s.f. of <br />new development and new private investment <br />of $10,842,970. <br />HAWPDATMCOMMSM010899AMMIN -4- <br />
