NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />j. continued.... <br />Owen Rock gave a presentation relative to <br />the Blackthorn Master Plan to the Airport <br />Authority, and he will give a presentation <br />relative to the Blackthorn Master Plan to <br />the Area Plan Commission on November <br />17, 1998. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that the Plan provides <br />for additional land for industrial <br />development as land for industrial <br />development runs out. The existing land <br />for industrial development is already <br />equipped with roads, water and sewer. <br />The Plan provides for more roads, water <br />and sewer in the Blackthorn area. <br />She also stated that Redevelopment <br />originally intended to do a major <br />improvement along Olive Road. <br />However, the Redevelopment staff felt that <br />it was best to go farther west and create an <br />entirely new road. The new road would be <br />constructed on land which is flatter and <br />would open up more land for new <br />development. <br />It is anticipated that the Blackthorn Master <br />Plan Phase II and Phase III would be <br />incorporated into St. Joseph County's <br />Master Plan, which has been started and is <br />being worked on. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded <br />by Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, <br />the Commission adopted the Blackthorn <br />Area Plan Phase II and Phase III. <br />H: \WPDATA \COMMSM110698.MIN -15- <br />COMMISSION ADOPTED THE BLACKTHORN AREA <br />PLAN PHASE II AND PHASE III <br />
