She <br />also stated that it is envisioned that the <br />developer could get into the retail space <br />to begin tenant improvements, and would <br />be open for business in early 1999. <br />The Commission directed the staff to <br />review the proposal and bring it back <br />before the Commission for its <br />consideration. <br />b. Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1614, a supplemental <br />appropriation resolution of the City of <br />South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission (South Bend Central <br />Development Area). <br />Mrs. Kolata asked that the following <br />items be entered into the record: <br />Affidavits from the South Bend Tribune <br />and Tri- County News that the Notice of <br />Public Hearing was published in those <br />newspapers on June 19, 1998. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that this resolution <br />appropriates $3,000,000. Of the <br />$3,000,000, $2,500,000 is tax increment <br />in the Allocation Fund to be used both for <br />making lease rental payments associated <br />with bonds and paying expenses for local <br />public improvements on a cash- direct- <br />expenditures basis. Also included in the <br />$3,000,000 is $500,000 that has been <br />HAWPDATATOMMSM070298.MIN -4- <br />
