NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />f. continued.... <br />between the property owner and the <br />Director. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Schwartz, <br />seconded by Mr. Faccenda and <br />unanimously carried, the Commission <br />adopted Resolution No. 1619 related to <br />acquisition of property in the Sample - <br />Ewing Development Area by Eminent <br />Domain. <br />g. Commission approval requested for <br />proposal from EIS for professional <br />services in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. (Dreisbach site) <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that there is <br />contaminated soil on the former <br />Dreisbach property at 602 S. Michigan <br />Street. EIS would serve as construction <br />manager to the contractor at the site and <br />would supervise trucking, digging, filling <br />and disposing of the soil. EIS would also <br />test the soil and report all of its findings <br />to the Department of Environmental <br />Management. The soil is a special waste <br />and not a hazardous waste. EIS proposes <br />to do the work for a fee not -to- exceed <br />$20,000. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Blake, seconded <br />by Mr. Faccenda and unanimously <br />carried, the Commission accepted the <br />proposal from EIS in the amount not -to- <br />exceed $20,000 for professional services <br />in the South Bend Central Development <br />HAW PDATATOMMSM070298.
