Public Hearing on Resolution No. 1574. <br />Mrs. Kolata asked that the following items <br />be entered into the record: Affidavits from <br />Lisa Andrysiak of the Tri- County News <br />and Carol Smith of the South Bend <br />Tribune that the Notice of Public Hearing <br />was published in those newspapers on <br />February 6, 1998, and a memorandum <br />from Hedy Robinson stating that on <br />February 9, 1998, a copy of the notice of <br />public hearing was sent to the effected <br />property owners and registered <br />neighborhood groups and leaders. As of <br />10:00 a.m. today, no written <br />remonstrances were received. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that Resolution <br />No. 1574 amends the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area Development Plan by <br />adding a number properties to the <br />acquisition list. The properties being <br />added to the acquisition list are three <br />vacant lots, one home and a piece of <br />property located within the block bounded <br />by Tutt, Main, Sample and Lafayette <br />Streets that was the former railroad right - <br />of -way in the Studebaker Corridor. <br />Mrs. Kolata recommended removing from <br />the acquisition list tax key #18- 7026 -1031 <br />for the property located at 133 Broadway, <br />owned by American Bankers Life <br />Assurance. She has been in contact with <br />American Bankers Life Assurance's <br />attorney, who stated that his client agrees <br />to construct a single - family, two -story, <br />1,800 sf home for homeownership and <br />-5- <br />
