acceptance and delivery, or the actual Bumper to Bumper warranty period, whichever is <br />shorter. <br />APPROVAL DRAWING <br />A drawing of the proposed apparatus shall be provided for approval before construction ES O <br />begins. The sales representative shall also have a copy of the same drawing. The finalized <br />and approved drawing shall become part of the contract documents. This drawing shall <br />indicate the chassis make and model, location of the lights, siren, horns, compartments, <br />major components, etc. <br />A "revised" approval drawing of the apparatus shall be prepared and submitted by the <br />manufacturer to the purchaser showing any changes made to the approval drawing. <br />PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE <br />The successful Contractor shall be required prior to manufacturing to have a Pre - <br />Construction conference at the bidder's facility with representatives of this agency to finalb <br />all the construction details. The bidder at his/her expense shall provide transportation, <br />lodging and meals, etc. for four (4) people designated by the purchaser. If this meeting is to <br />occur at a location more than 250 miles from the purchaser's location, the transportation shE <br />be commercial air carrier originating from the South Bend International Airport. <br />INSPECTION VISTIS <br />Accompanied by a Dealer Representative, four (4) members of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, or its designees will travel to the successful bidder's facility for the purpose of <br />inspecting the vehicle for compliance to the specifications and for the overall quality of the <br />vehicle. <br />Costs shall include air transportation on a major commercial carrier originating from the <br />South Bend International Airport to the nearest airport (if ground transportation exceeds 250 <br />miles), individual rooms, and meals. <br />Trips shall be one (1) post paint or an in progress inspection and one (1) for final inspection. <br />Inspections shall be scheduled to be conducted during weekdays, including travel time. <br />PRINCIPAL DIMENSIONS <br />Each bidder is required to list below the approximate dimensions of the apparatus being <br />submitted. <br />. Overall Length: 31 ' — 34' <br />!. Overall Height: 9' 2 " -10'2 "unloaded <br />CHASSIS <br />The chassis must be the heaviest duty offered by the manufacturer. The chassis provided <br />shall be a new, tilt type custom fire apparatus. The chassis shall be designed and <br />manufactured forheavy duty service, with adequate strength and capacity forthe intended <br />load to be sustained and the type of service required. Chassis, body, and cab shall be <br />manufactured by the same company. <br />14 <br />
