- Side Impact <br />The same cab shall be subjected to dynamic preload where a 13,275 lb moving barrier slams <br />into the side of the cab at 5.5 mph at a force of 13,000 ft-lbs. This test is part of the SAE <br />J2422 test procedure and more closely represents the forces a cab shall see in a rollover <br />yES O <br />incident. <br />- Frontal Impact <br />The same cab shall withstand a frontal impact of 32,600 ft-lbs of force using a moving <br />barrier in accordance with SAE J2420. <br />- Additional Frontal Impact <br />The same cab shall withstand a frontal impact of 65,200 ft-lbs of force using a moving <br />CyYES0 <br />barrier, (twice the force required by SAE J2420). <br />The same cab shall withstand all tests without any measurable intrusion into the survival <br />space of the occupant area. <br />There shall be no exception to any portion of the cab integrity certification. Nonconformance <br />&0 <br />shall lead to immediate rejection of bid. <br />SEAT BELT ANCHOR STRENGTH <br />Seat belt attachment strength is regulated by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and <br />should be validated through testing. Each seat belt anchor design shall withstand 3000 lb of <br />pull on both the lap and shoulder belt in accordance with FMVSS 571.210 Seat Belt <br />Assembly Anchorages. The bidder shall certify that each anchor design was pull tested to the <br />required force and met the appropriate criteria. <br />SEAT MOUNTING STRENGTH <br />Seat attachment strength is regulated by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and should <br />be validated through testing. Each seat mounting design shall be tested to withstand 20 G's ol <br />YES O <br />force in accordance with FMVSS 571.207 Seating Systems. The bidder shall certify that each <br />seat mount and cab structure design was pull tested to the required force and met the <br />appropriate criteria. <br />_"AB DEFROSTER CERTIFICATION <br />Visibility during inclement weather is essential to safe apparatus performance. The defroster <br />system shall clear the required windshield zones in accordance with SAE J3 81 Windshield <br />Defrosting Systems Test Procedure And Performance Requirements - Trucks, Buses, and <br />Multipurpose Vehicles. The bidder shall certify that the defrost system design has been tested <br />in a cold chamber and passes the SAE J381 criteria <br />:7AB HEATER CERTIFICATION <br />Good cab heat performance and regulation provides a more effective working environment <br />for personnel, whether in -transit, or at a scene. The cab heaters shall warm the cab 75 F from <br />a cold soak, within 30 minutes when tested using the coolant supply methods found in SAE <br />J3 81. The bidder shall certify that a substantially similar cab has been tested and has met <br />these criteria. <br />7AB AIR CONDITIONING PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATION <br />Good cab air conditioning temperature and air flow performance keeps occupants <br />comfortable, reduces humidity, and provides a climate for recuperation while at the scene. <br />The cab air conditioning system shall cool the cab from a heat -soaked condition at 100 <br />degrees Fahrenheit to an average of 67 degrees Fahrenheit in 30 minutes.
