ALVES <br />All ball valves shall be Akron Brass. Seats shall be self-adjusting forminimum operating <br />torque and maximum abrasion resistance. The Akron valves shall have an automatic locking <br />feature to hold the ball in any throttle position at any operating pressure. The valve body <br />design shall allow any actuator to be mounted to the body. <br />INLET (Rear) <br />On the rear panel shall be one (1) 2.50" auxiliary suction, terminating in 2.50" National <br />Standard Hose Thread. The auxiliary suction shall be provided with a strainer, chrome s <br />and plug. <br />Inlet valve location shall be behind the pump panel. <br />NLET CONTROL ED40 <br />Gating shall be accomplished at each inlet by means of a control lever, similar to that used <br />for the discharges. <br />TANK TO PUMP YE 1NO <br />The booster tank shall be connected to the intake side of the pump with 3.00" heavy-duty <br />piping and a quarter turn 3.00" Elkhart valve. The control shall be remotely located at the <br />operator's panel. The tank to pump line shall run straight, without elbows, from the pump <br />into the front face of the watertank and angle down into the tank sump. A rubber coupling <br />shall be included in this line to prevent damage from vibration or chassis flexing. <br />A check valve shall be provided in the tank to pump supply line to prevent the possibility of�&O <br />back filling the water tank. <br />ANK REFILL <br />A 1.50" combination tank refill and pump re -circulation line shall be provided, using a <br />quarter -turn full flow ball valve controlled from the pump operator's panel. <br />OUTLET (Rear left upper) <br />There shall be one (1) discharge outlet 2.50" valve on the left, rear side of the apparatus, <br />terminating with a male 2.50" National Standard hose thread adapter. <br />OUTLET (Rear right upper) <br />There shall be one (1) discharge outlet 2.50" valve on the right, rear side of the apparatus, <br />terminating with a male 2.50" National Standard hose thread adapter. <br />)ISCHARGE OUTLET, 3.00" <br />There shall be a 3.00" discharge outlet with a 3.00" Akron valve installed on the rear of the <br />apparatus, terminating with male a .00" National Standard hose thread adapter. This <br />discharge outlet shall be actuated with a handwheel control at the pump operator's control <br />panel. <br />An indicator shall be provided to show when the valve is in the closedposition. <br />E OUTLET (Front) <br />A 2.50" gated discharge outlet shall be piped to the driver's side of the front bumper <br />extension, with a swivel and a 2 %" to 1 %2" NPSH. <br />Plumbing shall consist of 2.50" piping and flexible hose according to the design <br />requirements of the chassis. A fabricated weldment made of black iron pipe shall be used in <br />the plumbing were appropriate. A 2.00" full flow ball valve controlled at the pump operator' <br />panel shall be used in the outlet plumbing. Automatic drains shall be provided at all low <br />AS <br />O <br />
