NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />a. continued.... <br />Using the total estimated project cost of <br />$525,000, taxes generated over the six - <br />year period are $150,938. Taxes abated <br />total $88,718. Taxes still paid with the <br />abatement total $62,220. <br />Mark Tamer of the South Bend Chocolate <br />Company stated that demolition on the <br />project has begun and everything is going <br />as scheduled. <br />Ms. Auburn asked Mr. Tamer if he knows <br />the Chocolate Cafe's opening date. <br />Mr. Tamer responded that the Chocolate <br />Cafe is expected to open in June of 1998. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Auburn, seconded <br />by Ms. Schwartz and unanimously carried, <br />the Commission adopted Resolution No. <br />1573 approving an application for real <br />property tax deduction. Filing of Resolution No. 1574 amending <br />the Sample -Ewing Development Area <br />Development Plan. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that Resolution No. <br />1574 will be the subject of a public <br />hearing on February 20, 1998, at 10:00 <br />a.m., and that the resolution adds five <br />properties located in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area to the acquisition list. <br />Four of the properties are located in the <br />-7- <br />COMMISSION ADOPTED RESOLUTION NO. 1573 <br />APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR REAL <br />PROPERTY TAX DEDUCTION.
