NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />r. continued.... <br />keeping current is also crucial. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that there is <br />approximately 804,874 sf of Class A space <br />in the downtown with an occupancy rate <br />of 95 percent. She also noted that there <br />may be some buildings that were built as <br />Class A office buildings but are not <br />considered now as Class A office <br />buildings because of their condition. They <br />meet some of the requirements but they <br />may not be considered Class A because <br />they cannot draw the rents and the upkeep <br />may not be what is required to be a true <br />Class A building. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Schwartz, seconded <br />by Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, <br />the Commission amended Resolution <br />No. 1559 removing parcel number C22 -17 <br />from the acquisition list of Resolution <br />No. 1559. <br />Ms. Auburn stated that one of the points <br />that came out in the staff recommendation, <br />particularly, is the need for Class A office <br />space. One of the things that increasingly <br />happens is the flight to suburban locations <br />of the Class A office user. Much of it in <br />part, because there is no additional access <br />to Class A office space in downtown.
