South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - November 21, 1997
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
g. continued....
suburbs of Maryland. We would request
that the Commission not include this
property on the acquisition list. This is a
property that is going to be developed by
the current owner of that property and
sold. If you have any questions, I will be
happy to answer them.
Mr. Hunt asked if Mr. Butler's client
currently has plans to develop the
property.
KEVIN BUTLER: Yes, that is there plan.
When they demolished the building, that
was their plan to then subsequently build.
Mr. Hunt asked if there was a time
schedule for developing the property.
KEVIN BUTLER: Within a year to a year
and a half the property will be built and
sold.
Mr. Auburn asked how long has American
Bankers Assurance been in business.
KEVIN BUTLER: American Bankers has
been in business since 1720 maybe ... for a
long, long time. I don't know exactly for
how long. American Bankers Assurance
Company is a large life insurance
company.
Ms. Auburn asked if there were any code
enforcement issues with the current
property owner.
H: \[-TOME \CPHIPPS \WPDATA \COMMSN\I 12197.MIN -24-
