NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />g. continued.... <br />the new Ivy Tech State College and the <br />completion of the St. Joseph County <br />Juvenile Justice Center. There also have <br />been some other new investments within <br />the 1100 Block of South Michigan, in the <br />recent years, with the Policemen's Credit <br />Union, the Fire Department Credit Union <br />and the Real Services building. <br />The other properties on the acquisition list <br />are located on East Broadway. These <br />properties include a number of vacant lots. <br />The vacant lots are to be purchased for <br />infill housing. The intent is to purchase <br />these lots and then put them up for <br />disposition for single - family homes for <br />home ownership opportunities. The <br />vacant lots will go through the public <br />disposition process. <br />There are five structures located on <br />Marietta and Broadway that at being <br />proposed for acquisition for strengthening <br />the residential neighborhood in that area <br />through acquisition of individually <br />blighted properties. <br />Mr. Hunt opened the public hearing for <br />anyone who wished to speak regarding <br />Resolution No. 1550. <br />KEVIN BUTLER: I represent American <br />Bankers Life Assurance Company.
