SECOND FLOOR:
Back Side/Rear Bedroom:
.7
The current rear room of the second floor has low ceilings and no windows. In addition the
doorway is too low. The changes in this room involve rebuilding the roof in order to insert
two shed dormers with windows. These windows will be double hung but of small
dimensions to fit in the dormer. A round porthole window will be inserted just under the
peak of the roof on the back of the house in this rear bedroom.
EXTERIOR GARDEN IMPROVEMENTS:
The addition to the front house (908 Leland) will shrink the space between it and the
cottage behind (906 Leland). This small and dark space will be graded and paved in water
permeable ceramic brick of an organic color to form a patio space for the properties to
share. (For seasonal color, large-ish planters with shade friendly plants will be installed.)
The same brick will be used to pave the parking pad behind the front house and
immediately adjacent to the north side of the cottage.
The space between 906/908 Leland and 902 Leland to the south will be landscaped as will
the front of the property at 908. New sidewalk will be installed in 2018 as the current one
is extremely broken up.
A new large tree will be planted hopefully adjacent to the back addition of 908 in order to
replace the maple that had to be cut down to fix the broken sewer and allow for the
addition.
•
3
