Roof is a cross gable with moulded cornice at the rake and architectural asphalt shingles. The porch has a <br />gabled entrance vestibule. The windows are 1/1 wood double hung with iron railing on the second floor front and side windows. <br />Some of the windows have aluminum storms while others appear to have original wood storms. <br />ALTERATIONS: Limestone was installed over the wood siding in 1943. The front porch was modified in the 1940s from a <br />full width to its current configuration with a stone wall and patio to the side of the gabled vestibule entrance. Art -lock asphalt <br />shingled roof was replaced with COA#2010-0928 with architectural asphalt shingles. The aluminum storm windows and doors <br />are not original to the house. COA#2016-0308 called for the demolition of the existing garage, but was not carried out. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: Existing 5 stall wood frame garage will be demolished save an approximately 27' stone wall on the <br />north side. Modern 2 stall 27' x 23' garage will be constructed around wall. Scope of work is attached. Variance being required <br />for west side of property. Project duration: 5 weeks from all approvals. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: Application is for the demolition of portions of the existing garage, followed by <br />reconstruction. The current garage consists of two conjoined structures with garage bays on both the north and south faces. The <br />western portion has three garage doors facing the southern alley. The eastern portion has two garage doors facing the house and <br />two garage doors facing the alley. <br />The western 27.9' of the north wall of the existing garage is to be retained for inclusion in the new structure to be built. The <br />proposed garage will have two doors facing to the east. Doors will be as indicated in the attached materials, the applicant's <br />preference is for the depicted type, sans windows. An existing north -facing window will be salvaged and reused in the new <br />structure. The roof will be asphalt shingle (Certainteed Highland Slate) with a "hip style configuration."
