HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />PRESERVATION SPECIALIST REPORT <br />May 15, 2017 <br />Hello Commission! <br />Projects started without COAs/RMEs/Permits: <br />531 S St Joseph -Looks to be a new chicken coop and lattice with posts for gardens <br />812 Golden -new landscaping block retaining walls <br />116 E South St -Roof and fagade work ( I have left three cards without response, the <br />building dept. is pursuing) <br />Code Hearing: <br />May hearings include: <br />519 %2 S St Joseph (3rd time -last time the hearing officer affirmed the demolition order) <br />621-623 Rex -(4th time for this property) Environmental (debris in yard) lack of progress <br />on structure <br />225-227 S Michigan St (Center City Building) was once nominated for landmarking part <br />of Downtown District, I will be in attendance for the above on same day. <br />We had 30-35 folks join us for the initial First Friday Then and Now walking tour which <br />we were able to plug with a live remote that morning on WSBT. The First Friday tour in <br />June will be part of the Best. Week. Ever and will have myself in costume and will <br />interior stops at the Morris Performing Arts Center and The LaSalle. <br />Also, although it was done independently, I was fortunate enough to be one of the tour <br />guides for the International Studebaker Driver's Club Homecoming event at Renaissance <br />District/Building 84.
