Supplemental Application Materials
The Historic Preservation Commission/hereby issues recommendations for the
submittion of applications for a COA for solar energy systems. Applicant are
encouraged to refer first to the official -COA application. When preparing
application materials, the„applicant should keep'in mind that it is difficult for the
Commission to conduct a fair and objective review and make a final decision if
the application fails to clearly`shows, the visual .arid aesthetic impact of the solar
energy system and all associated equipment or components. In addition to the
materials required by the application checklist, applicants should consider
providing the following:
a. Site Plan: A site plan that clearly—shows the location of the solar energy
system and all components. If ;an image of the actual property is not used,
%sketches should show the..solar`energy system drawn to scale in relation to
-the`roof and other structures or structural design features.
b. Site Photos: Site"'photos of the building and property showing the location
of the proposed installation as viewed from adjacent public thoroughfares.
c Representation'of Visibility: Sketches that visually demonstrate how the
`solar.energy, system and all associated equipment and components will
acfually.,appear on the specific site from any nearby public thoroughfare.
Components may include: any additional meters, inverters, disconnect
switchers, combiners, visible wiring or conduits, etc.
d. Example Images: Full color images or drawings of the proposed solar
energy system. An example on similar buildings, especially with the same
or similar roof style is recommended.
e. Equipment Specifications: Manufacturer specification sheets for the solar
energy system and all components.
