Notre Dame Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617 C1 765.637.8998 El actoering@gmail.com <br />WORK EXPERIENCE: <br />The History Museum — Public Programs Coordinator July 2016 — Present <br />- Responsible for contacting, scheduling, and hosting speakers and social events for the Northern Indiana <br />Historical Society's history museum. <br />- Created, planned, and hosted twenty-one special event'afternoon teas' in conjunction with the traveling <br />exhibit, "Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times." <br />- Administered ticket sales and exceeded market expectations -- added additional event dates to <br />accommodate increased demand and interest in signature history museum events. <br />- Doubled expected gross profits by simultaneously increasingly number of events (42 events from August <br />'16 to January'17 compared to half that amount the year before by my predecessor), streamlining <br />operations, and mitigating expenses. <br />The History Museum—Assistant Registrar January —July 2016 <br />- Inventoried, cataloged, rehoused, and shelved objects in the Northern Indiana Historical Society's 500,000 <br />item collection. <br />- Rehoused and reorganized objects in the historical society's storage building. <br />- Prepared, staged, and interpreted exhibits throughout the NIHS' galleries. <br />- Executed a preliminary audit and inventory of the upper level of the storage building. <br />- Isolated errors in the museum's records management software (Past Perfect); initiated an efficient <br />'housekeeping' of records, updated and 'cleaned' in excess of 20,000 individual entries manually. <br />- Trained, supervised, and managed The History Museum's Spring 2016 undergraduate intern, Connor <br />Eckler. <br />- Represented The History Museum at the opening ceremonies for the "Indiana in 200 Objects" exhibit at <br />the Indiana State Museum. <br />Harry's Chocolate Shop — Doorman July 2014 —April 2016 <br />- Ensured a safe and enjoyable atmosphere at a landmark Purdue University bar <br />- Inventoried, re -stocked, and cleaned <br />Purdue Institute for Civic Communication — Student Assistant May— September 2015 <br />- Selected to edit the 2014-2015 PICC Civic Competence Poll Appendix by Ambassador Carolyn Curiel, PICC <br />founder and former speech writer for President Clinton <br />- Created, edited, and distributed PICC copy, update digital media, reorganized office layout for efficiency <br />Jake's Roadhouse — Manager / Head Doorman April 2003 —July 2014 <br />- Responsible for the day- and night-time management of a Big 10 University bar. <br />- Handled, counted, and deposited monies (in excess of $20k cash). <br />- Worked over 100 "Breakfast Clubs," carnival -atmosphere events held during special weekends at Purdue <br />University requiring heightened states of awareness and long hours (typically working 29 hours out of a 36 <br />hour period). <br />- Trained new employees, instilled professionalism and a calm demeanor in security staff. <br />- Represented Jake's Roadhouse at community outreach and public safety meetings, including a decade of <br />representation at the Campus Community Bar Retail Coalition. <br />- Acted as a primary point of contact in events requiring interaction with Police, Fire, and Paramedic <br />personnel. <br />- Handled exceedingly stressful situations calmly and professionally. <br />- Maintained a safe environment for patrons and staff. <br />
