Historic Preservation Commission <br />President's Report — May 16th 2015 <br />• 04/18/2015 7P: HPC Monthly Meeting (County -City Building;Aoom 1308). <br />• 04/21/2016 5P: Attended a visitation service for Matha Choitz, former HP <br />Commissioner and appointee from the Board of County Commissioners who <br />passed away this April 17th, 2016. She was 91. Martha was a former President of <br />Southhold Restorations, Inc. and while there, championed efforts to save many <br />irreplaceable links to our past including the Clement Studebaker Family Mansion <br />"Tippecanoe Place." <br />Her contribution to local preservation began decades ago and cannot be <br />overstated. I had the great pleasure of serving with Martha while on the HPC and <br />was privileged to present her with the HPC President's Award at the 2010 <br />Southhold Awards ceremony. My condolences to her family and to all those who <br />knew her, remember her and celebrate her life. <br />• 04/22/2016 11A: Indiana Bicentennial — St. Joseph County Geo -Cache! (History <br />Museum). Attended media event and launch developed to compliment the Indiana <br />Bicentennial; County Celebration. Thanks to Commissioner Hertel and Executive <br />Director — Feasel for their time and energy in creating this exciting activity which <br />aims to promote exploration of unique attractions throughout St. Joseph County. <br />• 05/06/2016 2:30P: Staff meeting. (HPC Conference Room) Preparation for Kizer <br />Landmark Designation 2nd Reading. Participants included: Elicia Feasel — <br />Executive Director, Brett Hummer — Legal Counsel and Deb Parcell — Deputy <br />Director. <br />05/13/2016 10:30A: Regional Cities Initiative; Community Celebration featuring <br />the Renaissance District (Building 113) and Studebaker Administration Building. <br />Remarks by Kevin Smith and Addresses by Gov. Mike Pence and Mayor Pete <br />Buttegeig. Enjoyed Indiana Landmarks' tour of the Administration Building and <br />113 tour by Steve Szaday — HPC Preservation Specialist. <br />
