Historic Preservation Commission President's Report — December 21St, 2015 • 11/16/2015 7P: HPC Monthly Meeting (County -City Building; Room 1308). • 11/20/2015 2P: History Museum. Attended Special year end celebration and delivered words of tribute to honor Catherine Hostetler, for twenty-one years of service to the Historic Preservation Commission., • 11/21/2015 12-2P: St. Joseph County Public Library (Humphreys Multimedia Room) "Michiana Memory and a History of Documentary Photography" Description: Local photographer Lou Sabo will discuss documenting buildings and spaces with traditional photography. This is a Restore Michiana program co- sponsored by SJCPL's Local & Family History Services and the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County. • 11/25/2015: Brief meeting with staff. Final goodbye to Catherine (her official last day). Copied file information for 817 Forest Avenue for use on the Chapin Park ornament for 2015. Got a quick peek at the new storage room modular shelves and inventoried material. • 12/4/2015: Lunch meeting with current and former Preservation Inspectors and discussion over COA procedures and follow-up inspections. • 12/9/2015: Staff Meeting. Miscellaneous topics. • 12/14/2015: Staff discussion over miscellaneous security and budget topics. • 12/15/2015 5:30P: St. Joseph County Council: Land Use & Planning Committee (County -City Building; Room 411). Petitioner for the HPC approved In-line transfer of $3,700 from Deputy to Executive Director salary for 2016.'Also fielded questions about the Fagade-Easement transfer (HPC to Indiana Landmarks) for the Kiser House by Council Members Catanzarite and Morton. LUP Committee granted favorable recommendation for the salary transfer. Council Members asked to be included on future discussions regarding HPC fagade-easement topics. Anticipated review of the HPC salary transfer request by the County Council expected on January 13th, 2016.
