October 2014 Director's Report 15 September Meeting Prep. 16 September Elizabeth Hertel was appointed by the County Commissioners to the HPC at the bi-weekly meeting of the Board of Commissioners. Followed up with Aladean De Rose concerning the lack of legal counsel present at meeting. She responded that an attorney was supposed be there; but there must have been some miscommunication. Prepared and mailed out all approved COAs to owners. 17 September Meeting with Larry Magliozzi of Area Plan to determine if their surplus flat files would be of use to HPC. Took measurements and passed along information to Elicia and Steve. Arranged for South Bend's Office of Sustainability to present at Rotary. Began the process of having this Office able to access Area Plan's digital files and images with IT. Followed up with Paul South on Park View street light: There has been no change of status. City has the pole and has repaired the base. AEP is aware that we have the pole, and is working to assign a work crew and get the work done On sight visit to 1340 E. Wayne South with Laura Blair concerning the Insurance on her house, storm damage and need for the second floor porch to meet Code requirements. Also included lengthy phone calls with her mother, Ellen Stolte and her insurance agent, Lance Mestach, concerning this issue. 18 September Composed a detailed letter to Laura Blair and copied Lance Mestach. It outlined the steps that she needed to take to apply for COA to bring the second storey porch up to Code. Copies to Elicia and Steve with Steve to go out and meet with her. Followed up with Area Plan that HPC would like to have four sets of their flat files. HPC will probably have them before year end. Attended the Botanical Society meeting from 4:30-6:00, presented the Treasurer's Report; and the 2013 Income Statement which will be used for obtaining grant funding. 19S . eptcmbcr Followed up with Deb Kuehn and Laura Moran Walton on the SB150 maps illustrating the growth of South Bend through annexation. They should be available next week with the major street names. General Office work and follow ups with Laura Blair. Research on 202 Barltett.
