Director's Report <br />August 2014 <br />21 July Vacation Day <br />22 July General Office work; Local Historic Districts Tour for Holy Cross Village for 18 people; <br />Complied data for Invoice to City for annual stipend. Fielded phone call from concerned neighbors about <br />state of 107 West North Shore; followed up with e-mail to owner's family. <br />23 July Completed City Invoice for first half of 2014 and e- mailed to Pam Meyer, Mark Neal and <br />Teresa Shuter, SJC Auditor. Completed 1 106 Review. Follow up with Marcia Qualls and Paul South of <br />South Bend Streets about replacing the downed Park View lamp post at Park Avenue. Brought over the <br />globe to Marcia and long with copy of lighting agreement between the City and ARP and the guideline from <br />the Chapin Park book. Dropped off information to Don Sappington at 902 Riverside Drive. <br />24 July Continued research and article on South Bend's architectural history for Jennifer Parker. <br />Sent Don Sappington our Contractor Listing. <br />25 July Completed draft of S.B. architectural history and e- mailed to Jennifer Parker at Notre <br />Dame's Architecture Library. Elicia and I met with Mark Cantanzarite, Marsha and Mark about the HPC's <br />2015 Budget. When we returned to the Office we then learned that it was a complete waste of time and that <br />all county departments were to resubmit their adopted 2014 Budget by 3% and then using that new total <br />reduce the 2015 budgets by 5% by Friday 1 August. No exceptions. This is mandatory. <br />28 July -1 August: Theoretical Vacation Week. Spent Monday Evening at a 6:00 meeting at the <br />SJCPL on the South Hub and Western Ave. Presentation by IU Students and Faculty. Spoke at the Code <br />hearing for Ambassadors for Christ Church on Tuesday at 1;30. Worked on the budget and completed that <br />work by Wednesday afternoon. Friday gave Then & Now tour at 6:00. <br />4 August Participated in a 2 hour presentation about Smart Streets with all of the Stakeholders. Met <br />with Michael Wallwork, the round about expert, about die configuration of the Bartlett Street roundabout <br />and its impact on Leeper Park. He said that these were Ian Lockwood's conceptual drawings and that there <br />will need to be much more finely turning before the project goes forward. CJ Cunningham of the Troyer <br />Group requested to be on die Agenda to bring the Commissioners up to speed on the proposals for <br />Granger Paths phase lb /lc that will affect the Metzger House at 14309 Adams Road owned by Diana and <br />Ronald Snyder. COA deadline day but no applications submitted. Prepared two RMEs for trees per Brent <br />Thompson and processed one 106 Review. <br />5 August General Office work. Researched the City/I &M Historic Lighting Agreement and faxed <br />to Paul south with a hard copy to Tim Klusczinski. Researched missing Park View lamp post for Paul <br />South and Tim . Tim emailed his photos which I forwarded to Paul. Paul will check out his storage area <br />and also die 6 that were installed at Wise Guys on Sample. Reviewed CJ Cunningliom's proposal for the <br />Granger padis that will be in front of the Local Landmarked Metzger House on Adams. CJ and Chris from <br />Troyer sent their preliminary ideas for Granger path phase lb /lc for the Commissioners to review on 18 <br />August. <br />
