Director's Report <br />November 2013 <br />21 October Participated in the Northern Indiana Center for History Finance <br />Committee meeting from 10:00until Noon. Prepared fro monthly HPC meeting, <br />established verification of a quorum via e-mail. HPC meeting 7-9:30. <br />22 October Participated in the Botanical Society of South Bend Board meeting at 8:00 <br />at Farmers Market. Prepared approved COAs for mailing or pick up. Participated in the <br />Historic Rushton Apartments Ribbon Cutting ceremony at Noon. Toured the <br />Apartments. Attended the Redevelopment Commission meeting: David Relos announced <br />that Great Lakes Capital acquired the LaSalle Hotel. I was sitting with Brad Toothaker, a <br />principal of Great Lakes Capital, and discussed HPC's role in the development since it is <br />also a Local Landmark in addition to being on the National Register. <br />23 October Attended Open Enrollment Health Care Meeting for St. Joseph County; <br />included Elicia since there were going to be a number of changes in 2014. Prepared <br />approved COAs for mailing or pick up. Prepared 12 106 Reviews for submission. <br />24 October Attended the Ribbon Cutting for 626 Portage -new music store featuring <br />locally made instruments and lessons. Attended Benefits Fair required by St. Joseph <br />County and signed up for Personal Health Assessment. Spoke with Chuck Bulot, Building <br />Commissioner after receiving his Memo on the window openings for 1105 East Wayne: <br />The front, second floor of the garage and the upper south east corner will have wood <br />double hung windows, the rest of the house will have wood casements. <br />25 October Sick Day <br />28 October Sick Day <br />29 October Catch-up on routine Office paperwork. Finished 10 106 Reviews and <br />performed an on-site evaluation for a demo at 520 Sherman. Met with Staff prior to their <br />going to the National Preservation Conference in Indianapolis for the rest of the week. <br />30 October Worked on presentation for Realtor's scheduled for 6 November. <br />Provided information on West North Shore for an IUSB student. Corrected an e-mail <br />about the postcards that Rink Printing caught. Attended the Disabilities Awareness <br />Luncheon. The manager of the DoubleTree Hotel sat at my table and was interested in <br />the postcards for his Gift Shop; the Mayor also stopped by and said that he would like <br />them for sale in his Office. <br />31 October Continued to work on presentations for November: 13 November a <br />Forever Learning Presentation at Little Flower Church and 19 November the Theatre <br />presentations for the Razzle Dazzle Red Hats of Winamac at Tippecanoe. Turned in Fees . <br />for October. The City's Smart Streets passed the Council and Scott Ford e-mailed that he <br />was looking forward to working with HPC's team. <br />
