Director's Report <br />January 2013 <br />18 December 7:30 am Rotary Board meeting that concentrated on Centennial <br />Project in Howard Park. Decided not to go forward and concentrate on building up the <br />endowment in the local foundation. Prepared and mailed approved COAs. Began Office <br />clean out. After hours networking at Green Drinks at the Conservatories in Potawatomi <br />Park. <br />19 December Massive clean out of out of date material in the files. Todd Zeiger <br />came over to copy some material on the Rushton Apartments. Prepared the RME-COA <br />for the in-kind chimney work on the Kizer House for Indiana Landmarks. Contacted Kim <br />Bowman concerning vacant building on Hill and LaSalle and put interested parties in <br />contact with John Hoban (338-7730). <br />20 December Staff met with Melissa Paulson from the Mendoza School of <br />Business at Notre Dame to inquire about her course in entrepreneurship and to see if out <br />Preservation Trades initiative would be a suitable candidate for her students to create a <br />business plan. She will e-mail the paperwork to the Office. Staff Christmas luncheon at the <br />LaSalle Grill. Continued with file clean out and reorganization. <br />21 December We all survived the Mayan meltdown! General Office work. Spoke <br />with former South Bend resident and Studebaker Car Club member, Keith Wilson. He <br />saw Elicia's post on Facebook about the survey books for sale. Interested in purchasing <br />one of each and having them shipped to Georgia. While he was up for the Studebaker <br />meet he did say he spoke with Don Napoli about the Avon! And asked him to at least save <br />the terra cotta. Also shared a website for historic photographs and prints called <br />www.Shorpy.com <br />24-25 December OFFICE CLOSED FOR CHRISTMAS <br />26 December Continued with file clean out and Office reorganization. Luncheon <br />Meeting with Kim Bowman on East Bank and Hoban House and other Hoban properties. <br />27 December Continued with clean out of files. <br />28 December Arranged meeting with Charlie Horner at Local Landmark Emmaus <br />Church for 31 December about the doors. Met with Francisco Gonzales and arranged a <br />meeting for 2 January for Staff to evaluate the condition of his wood siding that he would <br />like to side over. Contacted Larry Meteiver to prepare 2013 Contract for Steve Szaday. <br />Received word that the Commissioners will fund the HPC icon for the L.L. Low's tax <br />system. <br />30 December Conversation with Michael Lykoudis, Dean of the Architecture <br />School at Notre Dame after Church about the concept of a Preservation Trades Program. <br />He is open to the idea and said that they were considering a Master's Degree in <br />Preservation. <br />
