CITY OF SOUTH BEND PETE BUTTIGIEG, MAYOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />Dear Resident / Business: <br />Please be advised that Riverside Dr., from .Angela Blvd. to Leland Ave, <br />is scheduled for reconstruction beginning Wednesday, July 31s through <br />Tuesday, August 6 t h barring any unforeseen mechanical breakdowns or <br />inclement weather. The reconstruction scheduled involves the scarification or <br />grinding off of asphalt to a minimum depth of 2% inches (beginning <br />Wednesday, July 31 repairing all existing manholes and catch basins, base <br />repair of extremely deteriorated areas, and completing the project by <br />resurfacing with asphalt. Resurfacing of asphalt is scheduled for Tuesday, <br />August 6 , which will require a total closure of any vehicle traffic while the <br />surface course is applied. Traffic will be detoured to use Portage Ave. We <br />regret any inconvenience this may cause, but this work is necessary to maintain <br />the quality and extend the life of the street. Parking will be restricted or <br />banned on the roadway during these dates, to allow crews the opportunity to <br />perform the needed repairs. Please -make any necessary arrangements to <br />alleviate the impact this construction may have on your business / travels, <br />Again, the time period of restricted traffic will be approximately 6:00 A.M. to <br />6.00 P.M. Wednesday, July 31"; and through Tuesday, August 6 th .
