HISTORIC PRESERVATION CONIlVIISSION
PRESERVATION SPECIALIST REPORT
October 15, 2012
It is a busy meeting so I will keep it short. Since our last meeting, I have been
working on city landmark visits and letters. These letters are similar to the ones we had
previously done for the county landmarks. We have some great visits as well as some
- that are currently involving code and the building departments. Details shall follow as
they develop. Our intern Fabian has been a great aid in helping to organize pictures and
details of these letters.
It has also been a very busy month for 106 reviews as we have had 24 in the past
month. Elicia was able to discover a mistake on an application that changed the eligibility
of the 106. We have also done visits to North Liberty in regards to two grant
applications.
Houses turned in for code
549 River, broken glass/debris
621 N Lafayette, debris
609 N Lafayette, debris, building, yard
509 511 Harrison, building issues
Houses turned in for lack of permits/COAs:
548 River, porch roof collapsing
307 Lamont, building and yard waste
325 N Scott, porch roof collapsing
513 Harrison, incorrect materials
810 Park, reroofmg
621 N Lafayette, removal of rear porch
Houses visited for consultation/recommendations
612 Carroll, siding repair
618 Park, front and side walkway repairs
318 Lamont, window repair
Steve Szaday
Preservation Specialist
