26 September The morning was spent in Seitz Park for the Hydro -Electric turbine <br />dedication. HPC had a table display of the history of the Dams and power along the St. <br />Joseph River in South Bend. Researched additional information for 3:44 Friday tour which <br />will include the interior of the Court Houses and also area's early French History. <br />27 September Attended the Redevelopment Commission meeting. The Downtown <br />Assets Economic Impact Study -was tabled. -Spoke brieflywith Kevin Smith and some of <br />his people about the Renaissance Center. Walked through the Court Houses in <br />preparation for the tour. Verified numbers with Holy Cross Village and Vickie Dudeck <br />with the Gotsch Court. <br />28 September Turned in fees. Worked on verifying budget. Attended Kate's Hope <br />Luncheon an MS fund raiser in honor of St. Joseph County Treasurer's wife. Spoke with <br />Ryan Dvorak concerning the Avon and lie has been receiving the e-mails and keeping <br />abreast of the issue. <br />1 October COA deadline. General Office work. Research on buildings. <br />2 October Began Staff reports. Meeting with Todd Zeiger, Elicia Feasel, Aaron Perri <br />and Marco Mariani concerning the lot on Hill and Colfax that has become a point of <br />contention between St:. Joseph Parish and Grade School and East bank Merchants. <br />3 October Staff Reports. Attended Area Board of Zoning Appeals and spoke in favor <br />of the rezoning petition for 621 LWE in die Edgewater District. RME COA for 613 Park <br />4 October Completed Staff Reports and on-site photographs. Routine Office work. <br />Spoke with Councilman Varner to learn if Sam Lima ever contacted him about being <br />appointed a Commissioner. Dr. Varner said the e-mail conversion lost a lot of e-mails and <br />to have Sam contact him. Meeting with Todd Zeiger on the DHPA grant for the Kizer <br />House Roof that HPC is supporting as CLG. <br />5 October Commissioner Packets and Homeowner letters mailed out. Contacted Sam <br />Lima to see if he was still interested in being appointed as a Commissioner. The rest of the <br />day was devoted to die AVON and die developments there. <br />6 October Spoke with Michelle Gelfmaii of 619 Riverside Drive, River Bend if she <br />would be interested in serving as a Commissioner for the HPC. I will send her <br />information. <br />8 October Finalized MOU with Library that will include provisions for transportation <br />of die terra cotta. Met with Larry Camparone of Engineering and Rodney Roush, The <br />Concrete Guy at Hodson's Castle about the work approved by the Commission. The <br />Engineering Department had issues with die height of the curbing, worked out an <br />acceptable compromise. Zoning and Annexation Committee meeting to support 621 <br />LWE's re -zoning bill and witness the tabling of the Landmarking of the Avon. Interview <br />by WSBT. <br />
