1. North Liberty -Public Hearing held. Letter of Support received from North Liberty Clerk -Treasurer. Mik Perry in support. Following the Public Hearing, Chair solicited opinions from the Commission membership. There were no objections. In response, the Chair offered the following language for Motion: "In accordance with the opinion of HPC staff, the Chair will entertain a favorable recommendation that the North Liberty Historic Commercial District meets the qualifications set forth by the United States Department of the Interior - National Parks Service, to be considered among those listed in the National Register of Historic Places. And that this body, possessing the powers and duties of a Certified Local Government Agency, hereby endorses this designation and directs its staff to seek the approval of the St. Joseph County [Indiana] Board of Commissioners and to fulfill any obligations realized from this pursuit." Lynn Patrick moved to adopt the motion proposed by the Chair and approve the nomination with favorable recommendation with a second by Mike Voll. Vote: 5 — 0 Unanimous. III. HEARING OF VISITORS A. Mik Perry unveiled P.A.L.S., Preservation Advocates Love South Bend, to capitalize on the monumental support network built during the last Local Landmark consideration. Mr. Perry would like to start this non-profit advocacy group after the holidays. Chair requested that Mr. Perry submit a written description of the partnership for further consideration. IV. Presidents Report —Distributed. V. OLD BUSINESS A. HPC's role in Vacant and Abandoned Housing -Catherine provided an update. VI. NEW BUSINESS A. Sustainable Preservation Trades -Catherine provided an overview of the proposed project. VII. ADJOURNMENT On a motion by Jerry Niezgodski with a second by Mike Voll to adjourn. Vote: 5-0 Unanimous.
