1. North Liberty -Public Hearing held. Letter of Support received from North Liberty <br />Clerk -Treasurer. Mik Perry in support. <br />Following the Public Hearing, Chair solicited opinions from the Commission <br />membership. There were no objections. In response, the Chair offered the following <br />language for Motion: <br />"In accordance with the opinion of HPC staff, the Chair will entertain a favorable <br />recommendation that the North Liberty Historic Commercial District meets the <br />qualifications set forth by the United States Department of the Interior - National Parks <br />Service, to be considered among those listed in the National Register of Historic Places. <br />And that this body, possessing the powers and duties of a Certified Local Government <br />Agency, hereby endorses this designation and directs its staff to seek the approval of the <br />St. Joseph County [Indiana] Board of Commissioners and to fulfill any obligations <br />realized from this pursuit." <br />Lynn Patrick moved to adopt the motion proposed by the Chair and approve the <br />nomination with favorable recommendation with a second by Mike Voll. <br />Vote: 5 — 0 Unanimous. <br />III. HEARING OF VISITORS <br />A. Mik Perry unveiled P.A.L.S., Preservation Advocates Love South Bend, to capitalize on the <br />monumental support network built during the last Local Landmark consideration. Mr. Perry <br />would like to start this non-profit advocacy group after the holidays. Chair requested that Mr. <br />Perry submit a written description of the partnership for further consideration. <br />IV. REGULAR BUSINESS <br />A. Sustainable Preservation Trades -Catherine provided an overview of the proposed project. <br />VII.
