Director's Report <br />March 2012 <br />27 February Finished six (6) 106 Reviews plus an on -sight visit. Attended a lecture at Notre <br />Dame on the Parthenon. Participated in the monthly HPC meeting. <br />28 February Prepared approved 803 West Washington COA for delivery. Car tour of all <br />districts and on site visit to E. Wayne Street for tree removal. Prepared 106 Reviews for Steve to <br />check and sent incomplete ones back to Community and Economic Development. Received <br />request from County Commissioners for support letter for grant that they had received for the flat <br />roofs on the Third County Court BuiIidng. Dea Andrews of 223 N. Scott came by the Office at <br />5:00 to question vihy her house on Scott wasn't included in the W. LaSalle Street NR nomination <br />along cvitli her rental. Also requested a meeting with HPC and the neighborhood on the benefits of <br />the NR designation. <br />29 February Followed up with Kevin Buccellota in an e-mail on the Wells Fargo project that <br />Brad Toothaker was proposing. Researched for Garry Harrington at Rum Village Nature Center <br />the information that he needed from HPC/City Park's preservation plan for an accreditation. <br />Prepared and gave letter to County Commissioners for their grant. Met with Marco Mariani, Tim <br />Sexton from NDU and Mike Neil of Memorial Hospital about the NNRO working in the River <br />Bend area to improve the neighborhood and mutual streetscape. Attended the 5:30 BSSB meeting <br />and presented the Treasurer's Report. <br />1 March Met with Greg Jones who is interested in 517-519/521 E. Jefferson ParkView <br />Tavern Building owned by Freeman -Spicer. Interested in what the original facade looked like <br />before the renovations in the 1980s. Continued to compile information for Garry at Rum Village. <br />Arranged to meet with Brother Larry Stewart from Holy Cross Village about the research he was <br />doing on the Rush family in the mid 1800s. Prepared information for BSSB on the history of <br />grants and contributions to the Society. <br />2 March Brother Larry Stewart CSC arrived at the Office and we were able to provide him <br />with information that he did not have about the dam on the St. Mary's property via our copies of <br />the older plat maps and atlases. Met with Reverend Williams at WUBS in a strategy session <br />concerning using Marquette School as a senior center. Dropped off paperwork to Garry at Rum <br />Village and the Stamp to Kathy Reddy White at Circa Arts for the Southhold Awards. <br />5 March COA Deadline. Met with Alicia Fullenkamp about her projects and Coa <br />application. E-mailed to Tenasue@sbealobal.net information on landmarks and 60649 Hickory <br />Road. Fielded a number of inquiries related to the tax sale and provided copies of Assessor Cards <br />to interested parties. <br />6 March Car tour of Historic Districts and 415 Parry Street (LL) with Elicia; photographed <br />1223 E. Wayne for Staff report. Photographed 612-614 Carroll that was turned into us because of <br />some improper new window applications. No permits pulled or COA so turned into to Building <br />Department and Gary Goddard red tagged the property. Later that afternoon the owner, Francisco <br />Gonzalez came in for information and appeared to wish to cooperate. <br />7 March 106 Reviews. Completed Staff Report for 1223 E. Wayne S. and sent to Bill Lamie <br />for review. Fielded additional questions concerning properties up for tax sale. E-mailed Larry <br />
