It has a rectangular plan, flat roof with metal parapet coping, iron/steel cornice <br />scupper, one over one double -hung wood flame bay windows with simple surrounds, limestone- _ <br />base bay window supported by bracket and simple one over one wood double -hung window <br />units through out with limestone sills. The building has brick masonry walls with limestone <br />quoining, brick dentils and limestone cornice. It has a wood and glass entrance door with <br />decorated surrounds, arch cornice with keystone and concretesteps with the inscription "The <br />Rushton". `_The porch entrance is supported by decorated brick piers with eyebrow cornice and <br />- : brackets on each side with concrete step, concrete floor. and concrete foundation. The rehabilitation plans arein the beginning design phase,andare intended to 'give , <br />the Commission an overview of the proposed exterior improvements and an early chance to offer <br />- suggestions. The application items that are considered in-kind are available in detail in the <br />submitted attachments and can be considered Staff approved or Routine Maintenance Exclusion <br />and will not be elaborated on in this report. <br />The application items to be considered by the Commission include 1. Removal of an existing <br />deteriorated metal fire escape that is tucked into an alcove carved out of the building footprint to:,._ <br />accommodate.the.addition of a new. fire -rated stair enclosure; elevator, and -ADA -accessible <br />entry vestibule on the west fagade. It is within this alcove that the -new one storey accessible <br />entry and full four storey height elevator will be built. The addition will be brick selected to <br />closely resemble the existing common brick as seen on the west side -.----Th e- door will be a wide`-~ <br />stile aluminum door (5" stiles, 5" head and intermediate rail and 10" bottom rail) with upper and <br />--lower insulated glass light. The flame will be aluminum.
