Turn east and continue in a line east one hundred <br />and fifteen feet. Turn south and continue in:a line south behind.the building <br />fourty-four feet. Turn west and continue in a line west on hundred and <br />fifteen feet to the east edge of the front "sidewalk, ot'the place of beginning. <br />Date of Review: December 7, 2011 <br />Case History <br />The Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend. and St. Joseph County <br />retained Partners in Preservation, Kurt West' C'arrie'r of Plymouth Indiana to <br />prepare the nationallegister Nomination for the'Sons of Israel Synagogue <br />based on its historic. and architectural significance. It has now been reviewed <br />and processed by`the:Staff of.the Historic Preservation Commission and is <br />now formally submitted-:for'action:by theMistoric Preservation Commission <br />of South Bend and.St. Joseph County:' <br />Criteria for Evaluation: <br />In order to be considered 'eligible for inclusion in the National Register, an <br />historic property should be at least 50 years old and must be a possess local, <br />state, or national significance in relation to at least one of these following <br />criteria. <br />Criteria A is associated with the events that have made a significant <br />contribution to the broad patterns of our history; or <br />Criteria B is associated with the lives of persons significant in our past; or <br />Criteria C embodies the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or <br />method of construction or represents the work of a master, or <br />possesses high artistic values, or represents a significant and <br />
