Sylvester Williams, WUBS and his group and John <br />Strauss, South Bend School Corp. Building Superintendent, at local landmarked <br />Marquette School. Rev. Williams wishes to begin to place a Senior Center with emphasis <br />on respite care for caregivers in the daytime as well as evenings, plus offer programs and <br />events for Seniors like the Battell Center. Wants to start small in the old auditorium and <br />build the program to encompass the whole school. Strauss says the SBCSC has <br />$450,000.00 set aside to demo the building, wouldn't consider taking down just part of it <br />or using the funds to upgrade the facility.. The issue is funding.
