Correspondence with John Hendershot regarding window restoration at Central High --)artments and five storey zoning concerns at the former Wharf site next to Stephenson Mills Apartments impeding the views. Follow up with Building Department. b. Rushton -Attend Redevelopment Commission 10.25 meeting on account of "Memorandum of Understanding with South Bend Heritage Foundation for development of the Rushton Building". c. Leeper Park -Conversation with Martha Kline discussion her concerns and to talk about volunteers. Meeting with Martha, Diana Mendelson, and Catherine to discuss the present condition of the park and volunteer efforts. Reviewing 1995-1997 HPC meeting minutes to determine the Leeper Landmark Ordinance #. d. Fire station #4 1240 Thomas -Correspondence with Eric Boyd, an interested buyer of the building. Attend Code hearing that ended up cancelled due to owner's absence. 2. Local Historic -Districts -Exploring the concept of Neighborhood Development Committees and the Liaison program. Review HPC Ordinance and consider enforcement improvements. Conversation with Chuck Bulot of the Building Department on how HPC Pres Specialist might work more efficiently with Building to place "Stop Work Orders" on unapproved projects. Touring East Wayne Street and Chapin Park with Catherine. Reporting a concrete repair to Wayne for inspection. Visit property at 815 Arch in Edgewater to preview interior improvements. Tour West North Shore with Catherine. Inspection at 908 Leland regarding 2nd door removal. Inspection at 557 Edgewater regarding previous flatwork COA. Correspondence with Chapin Park Liaison regarding a property at 846 Forest replacing a front porch balustrade and rail without a COA, prepare memo to Gary Goddard of the Building Department and follow up with Wayne. Inspection at 728 Leland for rear door COA. Staff Reports - a. 725 Park -carport. Tour Chapin Park and other districts for examples. b. 813 Ashland -window replacement (no COA). 4. Routine Maintenance Exclusions - a. 725 Park -brick pavers, expansion. b. 557 Edgewater -rear storm door. 5. National Register of Historic Places - a. Sons of Israel Synagogue -Reviewing nomination submitted by Kurt Garner. Working with Catherine to send it to the SHPO. b. West LaSalle Street District -Correspondence with Kurt. — - 6.
