13. Grants - a. Historic Preservation Education Grants 2011- follow up with DTSB. Prepare Letter of Support and 1 page resume for inclusion. Review full grant application and approve. b. Historic Preservation Fund Grants 2011 - correspondence with Kurt Garner, quoting for Nation Register Nomination writing for LaSalle Avenue, Sons of Israel Synagogue, and Marquette School. 14. Reply to Dr. Frank McGoron, IUSB professor who is interested in rehabbing buildings in South Bend. 15. Meeting at 1615 East Wayne Street with Catherine, Wayne, and Mr. Bizarro (sellers representative) about slate roof. 16. With Catherine, delivered Preservation Nuts, County, and City Survey books to Circa Arts. Picked up check for City Survey books that were sold there. 17. Attend "White City Principles in Northern Indiana Cities ", by the Keep South Bend Beautiful committee for Landscape Architecture Month. Met John Stamper, Associate Dean of ND School of Architecture and Angie Quinn, formerly of ARCH in Fort Wayne. 18. City of South Bend Lunch and Learn Series - attend March 24, the Immigrant play. 19. Attend Historic New Carlisle membership drive Open House at the Old Republic. Toured the house, ate the food, talked with the volunteers, and joined as a member. 20. With Catherine, Notre Dame Architecture Library visit in Bond Hall. Met Jennifer Parker, head Architecture Librarian. Learned of resources that may be useful to HPC. Ms. Parker offered her expertise to the HPC as to guidance with our resource center organization. Compile a packet of resources to be delivered to library, including South Bend & St. Joseph County survey books, brochure, HD brochure, etc. 21. Copy and send survey and Assessor cards to 830 Forest homeowner. 22. 1414 E. Wayne Street - observe conference call between Wayne, Catherine, and Dan of Quality Window and Door. 23. Michiana Facilities Expo - volunteered for US Green Building Council. Networking. 24. Researching property at 18- 2216 -8186 of Brentwood Estates for Amber at Prism Signs. 25. East Bank Italian research - gather and make copies for Julie Curtis of DTSB. Deliver to office. 26. Update County Landmarks list and forward to Mark Lyons of Building Department to be added to GIS. 27. Mentee of ecoREHAB partnership of City of Muncie and Ball State University. Correspondence with Bill Morgan, who presented at Preserving Historic Places Conference. Discussion with former ND architecture grad as to potential professor partnerships. 28. Assist Aimee, Ball State student with research on LaSalle Hotel. 29. Forward Contractor List to new old homeowner. 30. Lincolnway East resident, Chris, visit to office to inquire about planting garden, having an open air market, and building a structure to sell goods out of. 2
