Wayne North is a two storey frame home with a <br />brick fagade and an irregular floor plan set on a matching brick. foundation. There is a gable roof with <br />gable returns with cornice molding and an eyebrow dormer. The roofing is asphalt shingle. There is a <br />multi -pane half -round attic window. The windows are 8/1 and 6/1 double hung windows that have brick <br />soldier course lintels and brick header course sills; some with paneled wood shutters with a tree motif. <br />The front entry has gable roof with round arch under supported by brackets and smooth Doric columns; <br />the front door is rounded with simple wood trim. There is a one storey side open porch with a flat roof <br />supported by smooth Doric columns. <br />ALTERATIONS: There is a rear one storey 8'x12' addition with a shed roof that was built in 1955. The <br />brick is slightly different than that of the house. There appears to be some window openings that were re- <br />configured and bricked in. The survey card noted aluminum storm windows and some replacement <br />windows. The side porch is open and no longer has screens noted in the August, 1986 survey card and <br />—were removed sometime after 1995. There are COAs (2004-9) in file for in kind replacement and repair <br />work to porch, in-kind window replacement, garage roof and rear fencing. Removal of 1955 addition and <br />replaced with new one storey addition 12'8"x 30'8" in materials to match the original house. Replaced <br />replacement casement windows from 1955 re -model to match windows in the addition per COA 2009- <br />0601D. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: Living Room: Originally the house had two doors exiting the living room to <br />the side porch, one on each side of the fireplace. One of the doors has been bricked over on the exterior <br />and made into a shelf area on the interior. (Probably one during the 1950's remodel.) The remaining door <br />is in poor shape and needs to be replaced. Work to be done: Replacement of existing door and return of <br />"missing" door. New doors will match rear entry door. Second Floor Bedroom: Work to be done, <br />replacement of entry door and storm. Exterior door leads to covered porch roof and is in really poor <br />shape. Currently the door is held together with a metal plate on the lower portion. The storm door has <br />been sealed shut from the exterior due to the `Breeze" it allowed into the bedroom. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The homeowners wish to restore the south doorway <br />leading to the porch from the living room and install a fifteen light, wood frame door. They also wish to <br />remove the `Dutch Door" on the north side and replace it with a fifteen light, wood frame door. The <br />framing on the current door would remain and be duplicated on the south exterior doorway. There will be <br />no storm doors. .The deteriorated second storey door would be replaced with a fifteen light, wood frame <br />replica and the storm door would be a full view storm door with muntins to match interior door. WINDOWS AND DOORS <br />Window and door frames are of wood or steel (some casements) or in the case of brick structures, stone sills and <br />brick lintels. Where metal or vinyl siding has been applied, window trim has been covered. Storm windows are of <br />wood or aluminum. <br />
