The homeowners are returning an original feature, the
bricked -in south door to the west facade of the house. There is no documentation that the current Dutch Door
is original to this house. The proposed 15 light, wood frame door is in a style that is sympathetic to Colonial
Rival architecture and will match the door that the Commission approved for the addition in COA#2009-
0601D. The second storey doors are deteriorated and ill fitting. The storm door is permanently screwed into
the jamb; a metal plate is securing the base of the interior door to keep it stable. The proposed replacement
interior door in an in-kind replacement; the proposed storm door replacement will match the muntin pattern of
the interior door and improve the aesthetics of the west fagade by eliminating the mismatched muntin patterns
of the interior door and the storm door.
