Assistant Director's Report <br />HPC Meeting 01.25.2010 <br />1. City Cemetery National Register Nomination <br />Organized and condensed file; Reviewed what needs to be done; Begin <br />gathering additional research. <br />2. Lunch and Learn Lecture <br />Weekly meetings with Sue Solmos; Continuing to put the lecture <br />material together <br />Attend 01.14.09 presentation by Center for History, Andy Beckman & <br />Dave Bainbridge-Studebakers and Olivers. <br />01.21.10 Present on the Neighborhoods the Studebakers & Olivers Built <br />3. 2010 Commission Courier <br />Continue to edit content of newsletter; Troubleshooting and emailing to <br />400+ people <br />4. Attend "Sell South Bend" 01.07.10 class for realtors at the Center for History <br />with speeches by Mayor Steve & Sue Solmos, City of South Bend, lecture by <br />Marilyn Thompson, Center for History and presentation on Industrial History of <br />South Bend by Travis, Center for History. Attend "SSB" 01.14.10 at the Morris <br />Performing Arts Center with presentations by several groups. Attend "SSB" <br />01.21.10 at the Airport with presentation by Jeff Gibney of SB C&ED, the <br />Chamber of Commerce, and the Airport managers. <br />5. Restore Michiana/Southold event <br />Initial meeting with Paul Hayden and Jennifer of HLFI to discuss past <br />events and possibilities for 2010 event. Send out email inviting all to <br />attend a committee meeting. Reserve library room. Cancel library room. <br />Calling on other possible venues. <br />Developing a tentative RM schedule, including possible speakers and <br />vendors. <br />—2nd planning meeting included Tim Klusczinski, Jennifer and myself. <br />Sent an email recapping what we discussed. Contacted DTSB to inquire <br />on sponsoring EcoFest. <br />6. Attend Center for History "Voyages Gallery" on the lower level to capture the <br />spirit of the history of South Bend and past industry. <br />7. Met with President of Near Westside Neighborhood Association, Noreen <br />Deane -Moran to learn more of what they do and then hood boundaries. <br />8. Reviewing files of past Restore Michiana and Southhold Awards. <br />9. Review past grant applications to determine our eligibility for funding for <br />Indiana's Preservation Conference in April. Begin the grant procedure. <br />
