January 7 Attended Realtor Class at Northern Indiana Center for History and spoke briefly about HPC Office as a resource center, historic districts and district standards and guidelines. Spoke with Mayor Luecke concerning BSSB and assuring him that the work will go on. Attended the Lunch and Learn lecture at SB Library sponsored by Community and Economic Development & HLFI. Met with Edgewater Liaison, Sandy Wilson and emailed HPC meeting schedule. Contacted Mike Dyszkiewicz concerning cracks in glass and areas of disrepair that need to be addressed at the Conservatories. January 12 Presented at the St. Joseph County Council for the land -marking of St. Paul's Cemetery. The land -marking passed unanimously. January 13 Completed Staff Report for January meeting; attended Lunch and Learn at St. Joseph County Library on the History of Studebaker and Oliver. January 14 Mailed out Commissioners' meeting packets. Submitted payroll for staff. January 18 Office closed for Martin Luther King Holiday. January 19 Followed up on CJ Cunningham's emailed 106 report on the Adams Road Round About. Reviewed and signed 106 reports for City demolitions and grants. January 20 Discussion with Randy Ray about moving the Sons of Israel Synagogue to a northern location on William Street. Discussion with Sean Coleman, St. Joseph County Treasurer concerning the Rushton's inclusion on County's Tax Sale listing. January 21 Attended presentation by Jeff Gibney concerning the "strategic plans" for various projects around the downtown, TIF Districts and the zoning overlay needed for Ignition Park; the renewed interest in the LaSalle Hotel as apartments to condo development. Attended Lunch and Learn presentation by Assistant Director concerning the development of neighborhoods around the Studebaker and Oliver plants. Reviewed the tax sale listsing- several properties in W. Washington N.R. district 501 W. Washington (Rushton) and 609-11-613 W. Washington were identified. January 22 Re -proofed the final Location Report for 2009 for errors. Met with Jill and Tom LaFountain, Paul Brenner at lunch concerning the Conservatories and potential new board members. Began reconciliation of Special Gifts Location Report. Reviewed and signed 106 reports for City grants. January 25 Submitted Memo requesting carry forward of the balances in the Special Gifts Budget; on site 106 Reviews of two grant prospects; reviewed and signed off on 4106 reports for grants.
