January 7 Attended Realtor Class at Northern Indiana Center for History and spoke <br />briefly about HPC Office as a resource center, historic districts and district standards and <br />guidelines. Spoke with Mayor Luecke concerning BSSB and assuring him that the work will <br />go on. Attended the Lunch and Learn lecture at SB Library sponsored by Community and <br />Economic Development & HLFI. Met with Edgewater Liaison, Sandy Wilson and emailed <br />HPC meeting schedule. Contacted Mike Dyszkiewicz concerning cracks in glass and areas <br />of disrepair that need to be addressed at the Conservatories. <br />January 12 Presented at the St. Joseph County Council for the land -marking of St. Paul's <br />Cemetery. The land -marking passed unanimously. <br />January 13 Completed Staff Report for January meeting; attended Lunch and Learn at <br />St. Joseph County Library on the History of Studebaker and Oliver. <br />January 14 Mailed out Commissioners' meeting packets. Submitted payroll for staff. <br />January 18 Office closed for Martin Luther King Holiday. <br />January 19 Followed up on CJ Cunningham's emailed 106 report on the Adams Road <br />Round About. Reviewed and signed 106 reports for City demolitions and grants. <br />January 20 Discussion with Randy Ray about moving the Sons of Israel Synagogue to a <br />northern location on William Street. Discussion with Sean Coleman, St. Joseph County <br />Treasurer concerning the Rushton's inclusion on County's Tax Sale listing. <br />January 21 Attended presentation by Jeff Gibney concerning the "strategic plans" for <br />various projects around the downtown, TIF Districts and the zoning overlay needed for <br />Ignition Park; the renewed interest in the LaSalle Hotel as apartments to condo <br />development. Attended Lunch and Learn presentation by Assistant Director concerning the <br />development of neighborhoods around the Studebaker and Oliver plants. Reviewed the tax <br />sale listsing- several properties in W. Washington N.R. district 501 W. Washington <br />(Rushton) and 609-11-613 W. Washington were identified. <br />January 22 Re -proofed the final Location Report for 2009 for errors. Met with Jill and <br />Tom LaFountain, Paul Brenner at lunch concerning the Conservatories and potential new <br />board members. Began reconciliation of Special Gifts Location Report. Reviewed and <br />signed 106 reports for City grants. <br />January 25 Submitted Memo requesting carry forward of the balances in the Special <br />Gifts Budget; on site 106 Reviews of two grant prospects; reviewed and signed off on 4106 <br />reports for grants. <br />
