Director's Report <br />July 2009 <br />June 16 Historic Preservation and Northern Indiana Center For History <br />sponsored and hosted Robert Nevel's Lecture " A Synagogue Speaks" concerning the <br />architectural style of the Sons of Israel Synagogue at the NICH. The event was very <br />attended by over 60 people. <br />June 18 - BSSB Executive Committee meeting at 9:00. <br />June 19 Delivered HPC District Brochures to Chamber of Commerce. Meeting <br />with Gene Bamber concerning addition to home next door in the East Wayne LHD. <br />June 22 SJC Department Head meeting on various forms of Harassment <br />presented by HR and Perspectives. 3:30 Committee meeting for the Common Council <br />introducing ordinances for two landmarks. 7:00 Common Council presentation for the <br />Ordinances creating local landmarks at 305 S. Eddy and 113 South Laurel. <br />June 23 9:00 Botanical Society and the Parks Department meeting concerning the <br />Conservatories. 3:00 meeting with Hebard and Hebard at Monroe School concerning <br />the coloring and window treatment. <br />June 24 drafts of monthly meeting to Mayor and City Clerk. 106 Reviews. <br />June 26 Participated in Golf Outing for SJC Commissioner, Dave Thomas. <br />June 29 Chicago Synagogue tour with Randy Ray, Director of NICH given by <br />Robert Nevel. <br />June 30 Economic Club luncheon with topic of Eddy Street Commons. <br />July 1 Special Commission Meeting to address signage at 717 Lincoln Way East; <br />1:30 Broad of Zoning Appeals presented HPC support for four separate items. <br />July 2 Prepared reports for Auditor's Off ice. Sent Invoice to Pam Meyers, <br />Community and Economic Development per discussion with Cindy Bodle, Chief. <br />Deputy Auditor, for first installment of $12,500.00 from City. Participated in the BSSB <br />Executive Committee meeting. Met with Jack Plennert of ADG concerning plans to <br />restore/repair the doors on Jefferson School's w est fagade. <br />July 3 On sight inspection of Jefferson School Doors. Met with Superintendent <br />James Kapsa concerning proposed work on the doors and also the installation of a <br />plaque on the wall of school's south side flower garden commemorating Maurice <br />Tulchinski. The plaque must be installed with the screws affixed to the mortar and not <br />the bricks. <br />
