Certificate of Appropriateness #2009-0211 <br />Director Hostetler read the COA application and finding of facts for 612-614 South Carroll <br />of Taylor's Field LHD into the record. The application is for the demolition of the garage <br />per Code Enforcement of South Bend. Chief Inspector Molenda represented the <br />Department of Code Enforcement and explained the need for the demolition. After a <br />discussion of the situation in Taylor's Field and the on going problems with this property, <br />President IUusczinski called for a motion. <br />On a motion by Lynn Patrick with a second by Linda Riley the commission voted 5-0 in <br />favor of the demolition of the garage in the back of the house. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />The Minutes of the January 26, 2009 meeting were approved by acclamation <br />The Budget Location report was accepted without questions. <br />The Correspondence folder was passed to the Commissioners. <br />The Director's Report was submitted for the record with copies to the Commissioners. <br />The Assistant Director's Report was submitted for the record and copies given to the <br />Commissioners. Also, the information for the National Preservation Institute Conference on <br />Cemetery Preservation being held in South Bend on September 15-16 was given to the <br />Commissioners. Additional discussion between Staff and Commissioners touched on topics <br />concerning the Gate at Howard Park, Sunnyside Mansion and the Conservatories at <br />Potawatomi Park. There was no report from Legal Counsel. In the President's Report, <br />President lUusczinski remarked that he is working with Mary Jesse of Notre Dame on an <br />HPC image and graphics project. Assistant Director, Amy Minnick updated the <br />Commissioners on Restore Michiana 2009 and her concerns that in spite the quintupling <br />of the PR, she only had 14 confirmed reservations and only 5 vendors. She felt that the <br />event may have to be cancelled. However, the In -Service scheduled for March 13 is going <br />to be well attended with 44 reservations to date. <br />On a motion by President Klusczinski with a second by Linda Riley the Commission voted <br />unanimously to permit Staff to make the decision to cancel Restore Michiana. 2009. <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:53 after a unanimous vote on a motion by Linda Riley with a <br />second by David Sassano. <br />Attest:./r <br />V" <br />da '4ki Riley, y, S eci: <br />t# <br />,3 /1 ul / o, <br />DatJ <br />2 <br />
