Director's Report <br />February, 2009 <br />January 27 minutes for the January 26 hpc meeting. Presentation at the county council <br />meeting concerning changes in the line item for assistant director's compensation. D -mailed <br />Charles me Mannis concerning 611 Edgewater listing the Commissioner's concerns voiced at the <br />January 26 hpc meeting. <br />January 28 completed minutes. <br />January 29 e --mailed minutes to commissioners. Met with Martha Lewis of the botanical <br />society and Phil St. Clair, south bend parks director concerning the Potawatomie conservatories. <br />And the parks department budget. <br />January 30 sent to Phil St. Clair copies of all of the notes from the bssb and zoo director's <br />meetings from 2008 and also the website information for the Foundation Center. Turned in fees <br />for the month of January. Researched progress club for Robert Nevel. Television interview with <br />Troy Kehoe, WSBT, on the subject of the WPA/New Deal projects in general and in South Bend. <br />In particular. <br />January 31 met with Robert Nevel, an architect from Chicago. He is planning an <br />architectural tour of south bend for Stanley Clark School. We hada 3 hour walking tour of South <br />Bend from West Washington to the East Race that included the Sons of Israel Synagogue. <br />February 2 met with Karen Schwenk at the Federal Court House with information she <br />requested on the Pythian building and the court house. Sent letters to Pete Mullen and Andrew <br />Kostielney on the work of the hpc and the restore michiana events. <br />February 4 continued to follow up with Charles Mc Mannis and Peter Payne on 611 <br />Edgewater. <br />February 5 completed listing of boxes removed from archives that will not be returned to <br />archives. Researched home at 313 W. Front Street in New Carlisle. <br />February 6 assisted Derek Dieter and Ann Puzzello in selecting photographs from <br />our archives for possible display in the city council offices. <br />February 9 met with Connie Tooley and mark Mc Donald of Pioneer Construction <br />concerning proposed work on 514 W. La Salle, a local landmark. <br />February 10 meeting with Terry DeRosa, director of the zoo, Bob Monroe, grower at the <br />Potawatomie conservatories, Martha Lewis, president of the BSSB concerning the conservatories <br />and the work that needs to be completed based on Bob Monroe's "to-do" list for the winter months. <br />Presented at the County Council meeting on the line item change for the compensation method of <br />the assistant director. The ordinance was unanimously approved. <br />
