Schmiedeler and Renee Marie LaReau <br />Landmark or District Designation: East Wayne Street <br />Rating: Significant <br />DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: This two storey brick Renaissance Revival home has the <br />original tile roof and features brick quoins, Corinthian columns between the front arched windows, leaded <br />glass windows flank the decorative doorway molding. See Photo #1 <br />ALTERATIONS: The side porch was enclosed and the garage added around 1951. There are aluminum <br />storm windows and storm door on front of house and five replacement fixed single pane windows. In <br />2008 per COA #2008 -0904, 9 double hung windows, 5 vinyl picture windows and 1 hinged wood window <br />were replaced with Marvin Insert wood windows; 3 double hung front second storey windows were <br />replaced with Marvin wood sash -pacs and the front storm door was replaced with a Larson full view <br />storm un almond. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: Demolition of swimming pool in backyard. Fill with sand and topsoil. <br />Remove section of fence from garage to the rear of the house along the driveway. Neither the fence nor <br />the pool is original to the property or visible from the street. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: Per attached detailed explanation the homeowners wish <br />to have.Foegley Landscape, Inc. remove the non - original swimming pool at the rear of the house and <br />return that space to lawn retaining the brick paver surround. The also wish to remove the non - original <br />deteriorating stockade style fence between the house and garage. Foegley will remove all debris from <br />site. <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: <br />B. BUILDING SITE LANDSCAPING AND ACCESSORIES <br />Individual properties in the district are characterized by a house located in the center of a flat lawn, <br />often divided by a walk leading to the front entrance.
