It has <br />clipped/squared side gables and has an asphalt shingle roof. Exterior walls are wood shingles, <br />large on bottom half of house and smaller on top half of house divided by wood sting course; <br />bottom half of house front fagade has perma- stone. Front window is a single pane picture <br />window, the rest are double hung 8/1; the gables have side by side single pane casements. <br />ALTERATIONS: <br />Roof replaced in 1996 COA #1996 -0415; installation of salvaged 1920s wood storm door in 2001; <br />removal of 2 Norway Maples in 2003 per City Forester; removal of louvered windows in porch <br />and aluminum awning over front window after 1988 <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: <br />#1. Install metal handrail on front porch steps. #2. Remove infected/dying elm in tree lawn. Note <br />tree is to be tested for "Elm Yellows" if test positive needs removal ASAP to avoid disease <br />spread. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT, <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES; <br />B. BUILDING SITE, LANDSCAPING, AND ACCESSORIES <br />Individual properties in the district are characterized by a house located in the center of a flat <br />lawn, often divided by a walk leading to the front entrance. Many properties have a straight <br />driveway along one edge of the lot leading to a garage at the rear of the house. This driveway <br />often has a sidewalk along one side leading to the front entrance either in the center or at the side <br />of the house. Driveway and sidewalk materials include asphalt or concrete. All of the properties <br />have trees; many have trimmed shrubbery and hedges. All of the houses conform to a uniform <br />setback line within each block. <br />10 <br />
