2. Commissioner Zeiger inquired into the state of the budget process. At the time of this meeting,
the HPC has been instructed to cut 8% of its $80K county funded budget. Much of the cutting
will come from "Other Contractual Services" and such line items as postage and printing. Mr.
Zeiger also asked after the Commission's role in determining the budget priorities for the HPC. It
is presently entirely the purview of the Director. Any change to that, or review of budget
priorities in future years, should be discussed at the June and possibly July HPC meetings- as due
dates etc for the budget process are very fluid.
3. New Commissioner Jerry Niezgodski was introduced and welcomed to the Commission. His
appointment begins in August 2008. Commissioner Linda Riley was congratulated on her 3 year re-
appointment effective immediately. The Commission welcomes them!
V.
