Assess existing privacy screens and augment
with additional landscape for privacy and security.
General: The subject site spans three city lots. Mature hardwoods and
evergreens frame the stucco and cedar shake covered residence and
extend eastward providing canopy and screening. An extensive
compliment of quality ornamental plant material follows hard and
soft surface walkways throughout the property creating a series of
screens at eye level. Sidewalks of Jefferson boulevard and
Sunnyside avenue are lined with 4 -5 foot hedges (privet and
burning bush) while the south property line is bordered with 7 -8
foot Arbor vitae hedges. Many of the hedges conceal 4 -foot chain
link fencing. Gentle slope (approx. 7 feet) from north to south
property line.
Existing hard surface landscape elements consist of
flagstone /limestone and paver walkways, ledge rock/limestone
retaining walls (2 -2.5') and fieldstone mortared retaining walls. A
hewn -beam "summer house" and water functioning reflection pond
has been retained from the original site construction.
Views & Screens: Screens
Reference page 2 of Site Master Plan.
