Any other statements?
The only thing that I notice in 2006 and 2007 the C o f A's were
applied for in November, September and now into November. If
the windows need to be taken out, why hasn't this ever been done
in May or June?
That's a good point.
Well, the answer is that I was hoping that in September we had the
solution for the Fall but it was not.
The inconvenience is the weather. If we'd had this in May or June
any need to take them out and repair them would have been very
possible.
I remember why I was out of the country.
Ok.
I have a follow up question to that. If he'd wanted to take them out
and repair them, would he have needed a C of A for that?
No, not for in-kind. You can fix and repair, in kind, any part of
your house.
You still need a C of A for re -roofing your house even in kind.
I know...
Anything that requires a building permit, and that's the trip
mechanism for that. Repairing your own windows does not require
a building permit.
What if he had someone else repair them?
It wouldn't matter. If you incur a certain indebtedness to the
contractor that exceeds $500.00, then that trips the Building
_Department, and you must have a C of A at the same time. I don't -
think that's really here nor there, you can repair any part of your
house. The Chair entertains a motion one way or the other.
16
