Sporleder: I guess that I don't really understand these pictures to begin with, but that's not my question.
The question is is who initiated the, like your question Tim, who initiated what's to be done? Did AT&T
want to do something different than what's there, or did the LaPierre's want to move it from where it is to
someplace else.
Wright: Mr. LaPierre.
Sporleder: So it was initiated by the LaPierre's?
Wright: Right. Where we placed the original box that's there now, when they back out of their driveway
it blocks their view. I agree with them that it does, so we don't have a problem with moving it.
Sporleder: How long has it been there?
Wright: I looked today, in May it's a year. It's been there a year.
Sporleder: in this picture, is this the box that's been temporarily plunked there until you're going to
really install it, or...?
Wright: No, that's where we were planning on installing it.
Sporleder: So, what is this?
Unknown: That's the one that is already there.
Sporleder: So, this is the one that's going to come out?
Hostetler: No, no no no no no, Joann.. This is coming out and they're going to move it...
Sporleder: Oh yes, my question is is this the one that is just being set there temporarily?
Hostetler: No no no no no.
Sporleder: Well, what is it doing there?
Hostetler: It's been there for years.
Sporleder: Oh.
Hostetler: This is what's coming out because it's obstructing their drive way.
Sporleder: And this is going to stay there?
Hostetler: That's going to stay there. Because it's been there and this edge, the narrow edge, that's
where the smaller box is going.
Sporleder: I got it, I got it. I just couldn't figure this whole thing out. Ok. So, you're going to
consolidate all of the boxes into one spot so to speak.
Hostetler: So the LaPierre's can move out of their driveway and the thing won't be blocking their view.
Sporleder: And is it still going to be going that way, instead of long way?
Hostetler: It's going to be shorter, it's going to be behind this little thing, and it's going to go right there.
Sporleder: This way, rather than that way?
Patrick: (unintelligible-many voices speaking at once) this white chalk indicates the move, did you notice
that Joann?
Sporleder: Yes.
Klusczinski: Did you have a question Lynn?
Patrick: Yes. Ms. Wright, based on what you said, am Ito understand that you essentially wish to enact
all of the changes that they have requested.
Wright: Yeah. We've already agreed on...
Patrick: Have you put anything in writing? More clear than what we've been presented with?
Wright: No, I haven't. I didn't know that you would need that, but if you do, I understand. The other
thing that I wanted to say as far as putting bushes in the front, I don't have a problem with doing that I
just know that by reading your book, I know that there are certain kinds that you would want it to be, so
I'd have to have suggestions as far as what the appropriate kind would be.
Patrick: I don't know if that would be us to recommend or the City Forester. Is that a tree lawn? That's
a right of way right?
Sporleder: There's a landscapingplan for every historic district.
Patrick: That's true too.
Sporleder: With recommended bushes, we could just look it up.
Musczinski: Catherine, did the City of South Bend send in any comments?
Hostetler: No, they did not.
Klusczinski: Ok.
Sporleder: So getting back to who is submitting this- is this considered LaPierre's property that is in the
right of way, I mean, it's still part of their lot?
5
