r
EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION OF
SOUTH BEND AND ST JOSEPH COUNTY
DECEMBER 27, 2006
CALLED TO ORDER: 5:32 by Lynn Patrick, President
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mary Jane Chase, Tim Klusczinski, Linda Riley, Amy
Herdman (Staff), Rom De Palma (Contractor), Jerry Ujdak, Todd Zeiger, Catherine
Hostetler (Director), Ron De Palma (Contractor)
Lynn: We have two documents. First is the application number ... with the minute from
the meeting. We do not have at this point a new C of A.
Catherine: No. The C of A as applied for was for siding, painting the windows, soffit and
fascia.
Lynn: Now this evaluation that Tim Klusczinski has done regarding the property...
Catherine: Was done because the Commission mandated that the Staff go out and take a
look at the condition of the siding to determine whether or not the original clapboards
were in any shape to be completely restored.
Lynn: And you made the comment that this was serving as the staff report.
Catherine: Yes, because Tim was out there with us and then he went through and
summarized everybody's opinion and so this is what we have.
Lynn: OK, Since Tim wrote up this document and summarized everything; I am going to
turn this over this portion of the meeting to Tim.
Tim: OK.
Lynn: Has everyone had a chance to read this?
Tim: And that may be the best way to proceed, if anyone has any questions about the
evaluation. Basically, there were spot check investigations to be done in some places
where some of the green asphalt siding, you can see that in the pictures, was removed to
reveal some of the original clapboard. To date, unless, the De Palma Home Remodeling
Company can say otherwise, I don't think that anything more has been done on the house
other than the spot checks for the siding.
Rom: No, there hasn't.
Tim:. OK.
