Jefferson
South Bend, IN 46601
Dear Catherine:
Enclosed is information regarding the Artist's Guild Workshops & 2 nd International
Symposium scheduled for this summer and early fall in New Harmony.
This year's symposium brings together four great presenters: Jonathan Hale, Cambridge,
Massachusetts; John David Mooney, John David Mooney Foundation, Chicago, Illinois;
Richard England, Malta; and Richard Demarco, Edinburgh, Scotland. A brief bio of each
presenter is attached.
The purpose of the 2 nd International Symposium on Ancient Design Principles: Design
and Community, is to convene presenters and participants in a symposium intended to
discuss ways to reinforce these principles into professional practice and education
curriculums at all levels.
Attendees of the Symposium will learn how beneficial these principles are to the
contemporary design process by seeing them actively applied to the presenter's works.
They will also have an opportunity to share their own experiences in utilizing ancient
design principles in their own teaching and practice application.
Please visit our website: www.newharmonvsvmDosium.com, to be kept up to date as the
2006 Symposium approaches.
