A PERFECT DAY FOR A VISIT WITH <br />THE EASTER BUNNY <br />the little ones as well as a surprise. <br />r! - <br />I <br />P_ sweet treat* tom the Easter Bunny for sweet little ones. <br />The day couldn't have been prettier <br />for a visit from everyone's favorite bunny. <br />Over 70 kids, parents, and grandparents <br />enjoyed breakfast or brunch on Saturday, <br />April 15 at the Old Republic with the Easter <br />Bunny! An egg hunt was held on the lawn <br />of the O.R. on a picture- perfect day. A few <br />children were thrilled to find a golden egg <br />and receive a special treat from the Bunny. <br />HISTORIC NEW CARLISLE <br />ANNUAL MEETING <br />The annual membership meeting <br />of HNC was held on March 16 at the <br />O.R. President Nancy Taplin called the <br />meeting to order and summarized the <br />amendments to the by -laws as proposed <br />by the Board of Directors. The changes <br />were approved and copies of the revised <br />by -laws may be viewed in the office. <br />Election of officers for 2006 was held and <br />the following will serve as officers and <br />board members. President: Rich <br />Kopkowski, Vice president: Nancy <br />Taplin, Secretary: Sue Jones, Treasurer: <br />Mary Margaret Marker. Directors: <br />Suzanne Bull, Carrie Gelow, Barry <br />Griffin, Tracy Grimm, Becky Jose, Marcy <br />Kauffman, Keith Kauffman, Jennie <br />Kopkowski, Sally Marker, Susan Spier, <br />Mary Ann Swope, Kathy VanLue, Katy <br />Washburn. <br />Following the business meeting, <br />Dana introduced Jan Shupert - Arick, <br />president of the Indiana Lincoln Highway <br />Association and vice president of the <br />National Lincoln Highway Assoc. <br />Shupert - Arick gave an interesting <br />presentation on the history of the Lincoln <br />Highway from the beginning with horse <br />drawn carriages to early automobiles. <br />Construction of the highway began in <br />1913 and ran coast to coast including <br />running right through New Carlisle. It <br />was a fun and informative evening as she <br />described the early cars and their colorful <br />drivers. <br />The Indiana Chapter's website, <br />www.indianalincolnhiahway.com <br />provides links to all sorts of historical <br />trivia and many upcoming events. There <br />are many current projects which include <br />signage, mapping, and conventions.
